:: Update ::
Close to 600 young people,* many of them college students (from the University of Sydney, Notre Dame, UNSW, UTS and Campion College) turned out to hear DREADNOUGHT speak in Sydney.
:: Pro Multis ::
The vibrant, energetic crowd braved heavy rain and traffic to come; and stayed late afterwards.
Also attending were some Sydney priests, a couple religious (young Dominicans and Franciscans in habit), Bishop Julian Porteous, a few bright Americans, at least one Brit and various other seekers (including a fair number of people who later identified themselves as 'heathen', atheist, Protestant, 'gay' and / or sneaky over-thirties).
:: They Want to Know ::
DREADNOUGHT spoke unscripted for thirty minutes, before spending close to an hour answering questions from the floor. Afterwards, I met scores of attendees and answered many more urgent, thoughtful questions. I listened as people recounted moving personal stories. Yet more others told anecdotes about their same sex attracted family members (spouses, siblings, parents, children) and friends. By mid-morning the next day, DREADNOUGHT's inbox was full of responses, including helpful follow-ups and welcome feedback. I respond to every message that arrives.
:: The Upshot ::
Full details, including video, audio and photographs will be posted here as / when the media go live. Many thanks to Patrick Langrell and the rest of the Theology on Tap crew (especially the drivers).
