DREADTALK: 'Eunuchs For The Kingdom? Homosexuality & Catholicism' John Heard - Theology On Tap, University Of Notre Dame, St Thomas More Society
DREADNOUGHT will address the University of Notre Dame St Thomas More Society (and students from the nearby University of Sydney, UNSW and UTS) April 7, 2008 on the (somewhat explosive) topic: Eunuchs for the Kingdom? Homosexuality & Catholicism.
:: Those Who Can Receive It ::
The title is taken from Matthew 19:12. My RSV has the more dramatic wording.
DREADNOUGHT's address follows George Cardinal Pell's highly successful appearance (March 3, 2008), and the organisers promise engaging, high-quality speakers (including Archbishop Charles J. Chaput) in the lead up to, and after, World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney. There's a Facebook group and event invitations to keep you (and DREADNOUGHT) on schedule.
:: The Upshot ::
The event, part of the highly successful Theology on Tap series, will take place at 6:30pm on April 7, 2008 in Drummoyne, Sydney. Advance attendance figures on Facebook on Friday suggested 180 already confirmed, plus a further 219 possible / additional attendees. There is, I'm told, interest / anticipation in Sydney to rival DREADNOUGHT's passion for the topic. Come.*
N.B. Full details (including audio / video) will be made available online afterwards for US / EU / UAE / Israeli / Italian, British, etc. DREADNOUGHTERS.
