DREADPRAYERS: Humility, Sorrow, Purity
SIMPLE PRAYERS FOR SAME SEX ATTRACTED MEN
When Weeping Alone
O magnificent Lord, King of the Universe. I serve You with these silent sorrows.
After a Beating (Literal or Metaphorical) / HIV Infected
Make my blood like Your Blood. (Give me the courage to shed it for all men.) (Repeat)
Sprinkle my wounds with Your Most Precious Blood. Heal me, Lord! I believe in You! (Repeat)
Grant my feeble body, broken by hate, the glory of Your Body, which saves the world.
Soul of Christ sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ inebriate me. Water from the Side of Christ wash me. Passion of Christ strengthen me. O good Jesus hear me. Within your Wounds hide me. Suffer me not to be separated from you. From the evil enemy defend me. At the hour of death call me, and bid me come to You. So that with your angels and your saints I may praise you forever and ever.
Make us martyrs of Your Pierced skin, bearers of Your Broken Body.
For a Vocation
Make me an emissary of Your dear Wounded, thorn-spiked Head.
May I ever lift Your Eyes to the poor.
For 'Gay' Priests/Seminarians
Make us worthy, men for You. (Repeat)
(For the glory of the Church and the benefit of all humanity). Send me out for You. Bring me home to You and suffer me always to live in Your Light.
For Humility
Beat me into shape, Lord, with the Cross of Your humility.
Lord, You know our deepest pain, You see us when we're all alone, cut and hung from the tree of sin, fire within us the desire to heal our brothers, serve our sisters and protect the children, especially same sex attracted ones, in whom, we pray, may we see only You.
I love the things that ruin my comfort. (Repeat)
LITANY OF HUMILITY
(accustomed to be said after celebration of Mass,
by Merry Cardinal del Val, secretary of state to
Pope Saint Pius X)
(for private use only)
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being honored,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being praised,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I go unnoticed,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I,
provided that I may become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
