'My New Bedtime Is Seven AM!'
[UPDATE] OK, so finally something has happened:
Watch the 'gay rights advocates' bury this great news or fail to report it at all. They'd prefer to attack the Church because they hate it, even when it operates - as it usually does - to heal, love and raise up homosexuals.
::Amnesty's Shame::
Like the Red Cross, Amnesty International is a once-venerable institution that has fallen in with the extremist anti-war left and alienated millions of supporters. DREADNOUGHT was a member for some years (about four) before resigning from the organisation after being asked to support an armed insurrection against a democratically elected government in Asia. Like the UN and the Red Cross, there are still good people involved with Amnesty, but unfortunately their hard work is warped by bad decisions made by the executive. A new world order is dawning around the globe as a result of America's benign imperial ambitions. It will be interesting to see what kind of internationals institutions arise.

DREADNOUGHT cannot lie and pretend there is any news worth discussing today. There isn't. Instead, here is a shitty poem I wrote about a straight boy I fell in love with:
Daniel
The One
I
Finding it easier to hold you,
Simpler to wash you in the –
Stuff of my being this being
Only and not quite but friends
Is new and well really,
II
More than a little less than,
And more than a little more than –
I had ever, even when parsing,
Considered would be the case.
III
Holding the light,
Allowing it to shine just bright –
Enough that kind holds on but not
So glaring that it fires the bits
That hold you to me.
IV
For I am not a silly man,
Not a wily fan of the stuff
That creeps and tries even when –
The dog has barked and will not give up his bone.
V
And you will not give up your bone.

"The Adelaide Archdiocese has given support for a South Australian Parliamentary Bill giving gay and lesbian couples access to the rights enjoyed by heterosexual couples. The Advertiser reports that Archbishop Philip Wilson threw his support behind the Statute Amendment (Relationships) Bill yesterday "so that people can be properly protected in their rights"."It is very important to note the qualifiers:
"The Bill would give equal rights to same-sex couples in areas such as property, inheritance, superannuation and medical laws, and bring SA in line with other states. Discussing the Bill at a meeting of Parliament's Social Development Committee, Archbishop Wilson emphasised the importance of protecting the union of marriage but said the law also should be extended to protect the rights of same-sex couples. "We clearly regard marriage as being a unique type of relationship . . . but at the same time we recognise the fact that there are people in society who live in other kinds of relationships," he said. "The difficulty that we find in a modern society is that we are living in a time of change."
""It seems to me that it's possible to (give same-sex couples equal rights) by defining the terms clearly and making sure . . . we don't use ambiguous terms in the legislation.""Like DREADNOUGHT, the Archbishop has no problem with extending rights to gay couples, just not at the expense of unfairly pretending gay couples are like straight couples. Excising the disingenuous language is a good move.
